NFPB Pageant
Welcome to the ninth annual Miss
NFPB Pageant in St. Joseph, MO.
We look forward to meeting you and wish you the best of luck in this
competition. We hope the following
information will help you prepare for the upcoming event.

Who is Miss NFPB?
Miss NFPB is the spokesperson for the National Federation of Professional Bullriders. She will be required to attend all NFPB produced shows and at least 25% of NFPB sanctioned shows. She will act as the official representative of the NFPB by making public appearances as well as promoting the sport of bullriding. Miss NFPB will be required to travel and must be able to provide her own transportation.
The Miss NFPB Pageant is a
national pageant. Girls from all 50
states are eligible to compete. This
pageant will be conducted in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Miss
NFPB Pageant.
The fee to enter the pageant is $100 and includes your hotel room
plus some meals.
The deadline for entering the
pageant is February 15, 2006. The
dates of the pageant are March 29 – April 2, 2006.
All try-outs will be completed at this date. Winners will be announced on April 2, 2006 at the awards
banquet. Decisions of the judges
will be final.
Each contestant must be not less than 18, nor more than 25 years of age as of January 1, 2006 with proof of age, shall never have been married or pregnant, shall waiver liability, and shall never have held a Miss NFPB title before. All contestants must agree to abide by the pageant rules, with the possibility of disqualification for infractions.
Should the circumstances occur that a contestant is conducting herself in an improper manner she will be disqualified from the competition. The committee feels it is the duty and obligation of anyone in a competition of this status to portray the highest of moral standards and show the true ideals of young womanhood and set an example above reproach.
All contestants must buy/sell at least a ½ page ad in the Finals Program. Sponsorship packages will be given after entry fee is paid.
Judges are selected for their expertise in all the fields of competition. They should all have an awareness of correct western dress, are an experienced western type horseman or woman who is accustomed to judging horse events and work with the public in everyday situations.
The contestants will be judged in seven areas: Horsemanship, speech, modeling, photogenic, extemporaneous question, personal interview and Miss Congeniality. Horsemanship will be judged while the contestants are riding their patterns and on their knowledge of horsemanship during their interview. Personality and appearance will be judged throughout the pageant.
Modeling – Each contestant will be required to model an outfit of their choice. The judges will be looking for originality, style, neatness and color coordination. You will be required to do a runway walk.
Speech – The speech will be given during the modeling competition. It is to be at least 3 minutes in length and on the sport of bullriding. The judges will be looking for knowledge of the subject as well as entertainment.
Photogenic – Each contestant must submit a 5 x 7 photo of their choosing for this event. All photos will be returned before the close of the pageant. Photos must be turned in with the application by February 15, 2006.
Extemporaneous Question – The judges will pick questions that they would like to have answered. Each girl will select a question randomly out of a hat and will be given 2 minutes to answer it. The judges will be looking for quickness, common sense and knowledge and understanding of the question.
Personal Interview – This event is to let the judges meet you and talk with you on a one-on-one basis. They will have 10 minutes to ask you questions. These questions may be about anything. Be prepared, this is an important event.
Miss Congeniality – All the contestants will nominate a girl whom they believe is Miss Congeniality.
The winner will be announced at
the Finals Banquet on Sunday, April 2, 2006.
All contestants must be present. If
a contestant fails to attend the coronation she forfeits all titles and awards
that she may have won. All awards
and presentations will be given at this time.
**If at any time during Miss NFPB’s reign these rules are broken, she will forfeit her crown, sash and winnings and the 1st runner up will step into her place.
**Refunds and cancellations –
A full refund will be given to a contestant that needs to withdraw from the
competition if it is before the deadline. If
it is after, the entry fee is non-refundable.
